Village Government

The Village of Dobbs Ferry was incorporated in 1873 s the Village of Greenburgh by a vote of the residents of 137 to 1. Its name was changed in 1882 and is now a sub-division of the Town of Greenburgh.

It has a village administrator form of government. Under this system, the village is governed by an elected Mayor and a Board of Trustees who make policy and introduce and enact legislation and a village administrator who implements the policies of the Board of Trustees and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the village.
